Re: One of our recent applicants.
he probably just means pot wont let him pass I would guess.
which is legal here so I would care less if he smokes after work.
if its meth or a hard drug thats a whole nother story

The drugs won't effect his work, but does his ability to type?

We cross reference our applicants on social media. This one would have slipped right through the cracks, too bad he spilled the beans.

Re: One of our recent applicants.
He is honest at least.
My guess is that he really doesn't want the job and decided to sabotage his chances. That way, he can say that he is trying without actually doing so.
You are required to show that you are trying to find work while collecting unemployment, so many will demonstrate that they are applying, but also making sure that they will not get the job.
I think you have one of those....

Yeah. It was a good laugh. He actually looks like a pretty sharp guy.

Re: One of our recent applicants.
We only hire pot heads at our corporation. We find they are very easy to boss around, very docile,,, kinda like a neutered bull.
they are very easy to control and follow orders with out question. Only problem is they move slow and can't figure things out on their own, but critical thinking is frowned on any ways, we just want them to just follow company policy and be brain dead on all other matters.

Andy, you just described every major corporation that I have ever worked for
Even with tongue firmly planted in cheek, it rings about 70% true.

Yep, it's true, that's what they want. I did 5 years with a national company,
We (the working staff) were talked to like a 5 year old children by the corporate people ,
they would give "safty" meetings and tell us when we come to a stop light while driving we are supposed to stop at red lights, go on green lights, follow the speed limit, and stupid stuff like that.
then have us sing the paper that stated what we "learned" :0)

Re: One of our recent applicants.
I know this is a little off topic, but it is a true story.
I was working in a warehouse for General Electric where they load up Sea Vans to be shipped to Nuclear plants for maint. outages. While there, I sat in on a safety meeting that was concerned about a rash of injuries.
Apparently, they had 4 workplace injuries caused by hitting themselves in the face trying to remove decals by pulling them upwards. The decal would break and the energy would cause them to punch themselves in the face.
The first 2 guys sustained injuries they pulled so hard. The Safety Manager devised the new procedure of making all employees wear safety visors when working with decals.
The employees were made to sit through a power point presentation on how to use the visors and the importance of being safe. It was almost 30 minutes long, followed by a demonstration and finally ended with a sign off sheet stating that everyone understands the new process.
Being an outsider, I tried to mind my own business, but it was too much for me in the end so I suggested that they just pull down on the decals instead of pulling up towards their face.
The room was silent for about a full minute. Then the Safety Manager said that we could try my idea, but to have the visor on just the same.
Idiots...everyone of them.

"self employment is the resort of the trouble making individual"
Or people who pull down with no visor,,, in spite of company policy.
Do you understand? Now sing the paper!!

Not any more...too old. Go back about 15 years, though and I would staff every position with me.
Re: One of our recent applicants.
Yea really, I'm too old n worn out to hire/clone now.
I'd do the same, hire 10 of me from 15 yrs ago.
