rotary or OP
Looking at one or the other real soon.
Can you sand, polish, and hone with an OP? or is it mostly just for carpets?
I want a good all around machine that I can drive many pads with and be able to do many services

Re: rotary or OP
From what you describe, the rotary is the better choice.
A good OP can do most of those things and do it well, except for sanding. If that is in the cards, go rotary.

Re: rotary or OP
you can sand as well with a OP.
as in sanding hardwood? compare hand sanders - rotary to orbital.
Budget?

Re: rotary or OP
Originaly op machines were built for sanding and then converted to clean carpets, less chance of gouging the wood with op.

Re: rotary or OP
Just really light sanding on sub floors, and then for dustless wood refinishing. Also would like to eventually use it for different types of stone.

Learned something new today...thanks. I will use the orbot on stone, but never thought about using it on wood...just didn't think it was a good fit.
