What do your invoices look like? Are they custom? Are they printed from your computer? What system do you use?

Mo, didn't we share these with the forum awhile back?

I use a full sheet 8.5x11" two part NCR.
After all it's hard to give big quotes if you don't have the room to write them. wink

On commercial, I will actually create a full-page estimate and summary of competed work.

Residential, if not paying by credit card, I just use the traditional ticket book with my logo on top. I really don't like the generic book as it is difficult to add special jobs to the generic headings.

When my wife was my secretary we did custom for ea custy.....it was nice for me, them and my wife and records

I do that on specialty job quotes, flood losses and larger jobs.  I create them in Word.  But most of the time, and for residential I use what I showed you.....similar to what I shared here awhile back, but I think now has been removed due to lack of participation?

For detailed invoices, commercial jobs or customers that want more than the square invoice I use excel spreadsheets.. its easy to put your logo at the top and have it auto calculate tax etc

I use word and excel for a lot of stuff but im talking mainly about the daily grind with invoices. The one Davey shared with me is awesome! I may tweak it to fit me....and go with it.

Guys, you should take a look at waveapps.com. Its very easy to make a pro looking invoice. I don't really use their other services but for invoices its the best i have found so far. They also can keep a customer list and service list so it makes it even better for repeat customers or monthly commercial invoices.

On commercial invoices, I will actually write them out in a Word document with my logo at the top. It will list all the pertinent information and scope of the work completed as well as the full breakdown of the costs and calculations (I was always taught to show my work).

I just email it to the manager in a pdf and wait for a check. I know that accounting loves that it includes the full cost breakdown and even discovered an error once so they are checking it twice.

The end result is that accounting approves it and I get paid in less than 10 days almost every time.

now all invoices are done on house call pro.

Ill post a pic of some when I have some time, they are really nice and auto emailed to customers as soon as you punch the job out
