Post by Devon07 Wed Sep 23, 2015 5:52 pm

I got mine today....they look pretty cool. Im giving mine to customers. I thought about selling them and then it hit me that its much better to give away...I had my company logo printed on them with my ph# and website. When they go to use the spotter I want them to think of my company....AND instead of getting there and having 20oz of Resolve sitting on a smeared spot....it will be pre treated already with Procyon! lol

I wont enter this drawing...I want others to try the stuff too.

Procyon Customer Spotter Raffle Empty Re: Procyon Customer Spotter Raffle

Post by milspec6 Wed Sep 23, 2015 6:02 pm

I might be the only one who doesn't like the whole custom spotter program idea. I can see how it "could" work just like Devon describes, but I am a guy who worries about things that I can't control....the customer in the home with a spotter wearing my label for example.

If it doesn't work or causes things to get worse, it will be you that they associate with it.

If the dog or child ends up drinking it or splashing it into their eyes, you will be the company associated with it.

The contents of the bottle isn't mixed by you so it could be anything inside that bottle from a disgruntled employee....yet it will be you that is associated with it.

This are all probably just me being my normal paranoid self, but how stable is that product? What happens if it freezes while the customer stored it under the kitchen sink? Will it still be stable and effective 2 years from now when the customer uses it?

I just never feel comfortable with the giveaway thing. I would rather give them my business card and ask that they call me for any issues they encounter.

That's a very good point.^  And good question to ask insurance rep if you would be covered in a  situation like that.

I have too much to loose, what lil I have I should say, to risk it. laughing

I wonder what your liability insurance company would say about this?

Anyone ever have that conversation?

I think that just might be being a little too paranoid.

but I like putting a sticker on their vacuum instead.

I cleaned out a ladys filters the other day and got her vac back in shape, slapped a sticker on it

she was pretty excited about it

It is being a little paranoid, but I have been sued for far less things.

Back when I worked at the Prison, I was once sued for forcing a vampire out into daylight. Seriously, the guy claimed to be a vampire and sued for religious persecution and skin damage after I exposed him to sunlight. It actually went to trial with an AFL/CIO attorney representing the freak.

They lost the case when they failed to prove any skin damage and my defense attorney challenged him to test for a reflection in a pocket mirror. (Can't make this crap up).

Ever since those days, I am a paranoid safety guy. Cones around all hoses, wet floor signs, stay clear of moving parts, etc. Anything to reduce my liability from the con-artists who think I have money because I own a couple of trucks.

Rob...call me a risk taker but I wont live like that. I want to market my company and I will...I wont worry about the possible law suit....you have them every second of every day....you just have to be diligent. If someone comes at you, fight on! Counter sue and the whole nine yards, chances are they just want to try and get a few bucks they dont have....hard to fight when it becomes gambling. They chance losing on a counter suit and they don't have money obviously. On a label....I think any attorney would be most interested in the manufacturer and the coverage they have....it should be easy to dodge that bullet IMO. I know you can get into something sticky but if you worry that one out.....stay in bed and hope your over grown lawn doesn't block the view of a walking pedestrian.

The worry is real, but don't discount it at just your company

I was thinking about sueing Mo.....his drinking imoti made it look fun and now I have a drinking problem. Wink

Fair enough, but I will still have my reservations and I have to trust that at times.

Besides, I am mostly commercial cleaning these days and don't see any need to hand out spotters to them.

I'm not in the raffle, I still have 200 or so spotter bottles in my garage.
I understand Robs paranoia.
The other day I was worried that all the foot traffic by/over my hoses; someone might tink to trip and hurt themselves. And sue me.
Well I won't put up with some horse s*** like that. I'll counter sue for their stupidity. Blindness. Carelessness. Then we'll put their boss, co-worker, cousins, neighbors on the stand and bring into question their character and creditability.
Case closed!

I did spotters when I first started and I remember there was one person that got a spotter three times in over a year. The last time I told her they were only for my current customers

I prefer to just bottle up my own spotters its much cheaper that way.

not something I have done in a while but it only takes a gallon of encap to make a lot of them

jon don charges a lot for their custom spotter program

AC...that may be good but then you have a higher risk like Rob it talking about...you mixed it. The purchased way you can easily make light and say its a bottle of product from XXXXXX and they mixed it. I can see in court them asking if you are a chemist. either way is good but risk may be higher doing it that way. If we are making attempts at buying safe products we are doing our part.

theres no risk,   the bottles need a precaution label just like any other store bought product.

no precaution and ya your putting your self at a risk but I would still say its a pretty minor one.

you could tell me anything you do throughout your normal daily routine and I could come up with a ton of different ways someone could sue you
