This is on my John Deere lawn mower...I'm really puzzled with this, I had a guy who used to work as a mechanic for John Deere and from seeing him work on things for me in the past I'm sure he is good....but he is busy and no longer a mechanic for JD. He checked everything on my motor and said he couldn't find a problem with the engine itself...checked internal and was happy with everything....so much so he said it must be electrical ???? What its doing is once it starts, it sounds like a plop plop plop plop plop instead of the brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr almost to the point of sounding like it will die...but it doesn't! Just before my last mowing with it, It mowed great and I parked it....went to mow again and it started and plop plop plop.....it's not starving for fuel....the motor is sound...its just acting weird. The guy is really busy and it wont be until next spring before I can get him over to check it out....I'm not going to wait! So, what does this sound like? It's a Kohler Model# cv460S not even sure of the HP but I can get the info if someone may have a clue. The motor is common. What electrical can cause this odd plop?

Sounds like a vacuum leak somewhere, but I'm sure ACE has it covered.
