The two nuts on my regulator
My regulator/unloader has two nuts that you thread on to the shaft. How far down the shaft do you thread them down the shaft?

Mo
The two nuts are too set the psi at a certain pressure and you can't go over that pressure. But you can turn it down to do upholstery that way your helpers can't turn the pressure above where you want it set at. Once you get it set then you jam the nuts together so it want move.

Re: The two nuts on my regulator
OK so the closer I get that nut to the knob the more psi I set it at. Dam that sounds nasty too
I think I got the wrong regulator the last time. This week I lost pressure and the PSI was stuck at 450 It was a bitch remove the QD but once I removed it the PSI dropped and I was able to prime the pump again.
Thanks ACE

Re: The two nuts on my regulator
By the way you're describing it, Mo, I think you might have the same one I do..............the adjustment knob is a long brass hex nut basically?
If so, then it also has two skinny brass nuts (jam nuts)?
The way I've always used them is, the first one on is the one that secures BPR to the front panel on machine, and then the second one on is used like Ace said, as a jam nut, to keep the larger hex adjustment knob locked in place, or as a stop to keep psi from being turned up too high.
