Snowball continues
Received another phone call this morning from a flood victim in the the neighboring town asking for help. He was a referral from the last job, just like all the flood jobs have been so far.
I inspected the house, laid out the recovery plan, quoted the price, and was booked to start Monday afternoon....even gave me the house key. I like it when customers trust you enough to hand you a key to the house...only in the Midwest probably.
While I was closing the deal, 2 guys stopped by on motorcycles after seeing my van in the driveway. Both were doctors at the local hospital and both need help with their basements as well. Those are booked for later in the week. I just hope that I can buy some more Sporicidin in time as only one place carries it around here and rarely has any in stock.
It has been a crazy week with jobs snowballing faster than I expected. With each job that I get done, 2 more pop up from that referral.
I did not predict this at all.....actually feared that I wouldn't be able to stay busy. Proof again that I am an idiot, but a busy one.
I wonder what kind of referrals I will get from the Doctors?? Maybe I start cleaning a hospital next?

Re: Snowball continues
Rather shocked myself.
They aren't the biggest tickets around. The homeowners have removed all of the basement contents (including carpet) and have dried the space for the most part.
My role is coming in and taking the job the rest of the way in order to sanitize the place and have it ready for the next contractor to come in and replace the drywall, baseboards, etc.
Even though I don't get the 5k the franchises are bringing in, I am also not paying the hotel, food, and labor costs that the franchise guys are shelling out for their teams.
I expect that there will be even more calls this week.
