Cat Pump Seal Replacement

I think I need to replace the pump seals on my cat 3cp. Ill get pressure if i connect my multipsrayer wand but no pressure when I connect my wand. I presume my high pressure seals need to be replaced.

This happened a while back but it seemed to have resolved itself. Last night I didn't put the van in the garage and fell below 20 degrees arhh

Rob did you remove the pump from the machine or just the head?

I saw the high and low pressure seal at jon don for 100 i that about right?

Did you have a heater blowing on it last night in those temps?

Didn't pull the pump, just the head. No need to go any farther to replace the seals.

Have to watch those temps even out your way this week. Is the LG okay?

OK cool. I caught me off guard. I got to a mattress cleaning jon and pump was frozen. So I took my spotter in along withe my multisprayer and teh pumps were frozen on those two things, I borrowed her blow dryer to defrost the pumps. I haven't been using the LG it started leaking a while back.

I frickin hate winter. I going to take a look at an RV tomorrow so I can take december and January off and head out some were warm like the keys. Maybe Im just dreaming

You hate winter? Welcome to my world for the next 4 months. Razz

The good news is that you probably didn't damage anything. I have seen TM's frozen so solid that the float tanks was a block of ice, but once they were slowly thawed only needed a few fittings replaced.

It does suck though dealing with all this crap. I have that rural mansion to clean tomorrow and the windchill is supposed to be in the teens with snow. The big blizzard is due to arrive the start of next week, so it only gets worse from here.

I would love to relocate during the winters......

The price fro the same kit at Interlink 200., at Jon Don 100 at Kleenrite 56.. WTF

Good luck on that job today. Theres now way I would even attempt to clean in blizzard conditions unless I was starving

The price on everything seems to be vastly different between those places. Kleenrite is always going to be the cheapest in my experience, but not always the fastest.

The seal kit isn't that bad to change. I put a post in last night but it didn't post for some reason. Oh well.
Mo as for the seal kit prices, make sure that they are the same cat part number. There is one called hot dry seals the inter seal is white and is rated for high temp and can run dry for a longer period of time, this seal kit will be 175 to 200.

It is times like this where I love the Cat 430 pump. Sure, it only runs up to 1,000 psi, but I haven't needed to replace anything on it in 7 years of hard usage.

It is an easy project Mo, get on it and move past the problem.

I think you can get the high temp seal kit for a Cat 3cp at Windtrax for about $100.

Looks like seals will be delivered tomorrow. I'm assuming it's the high pressure seals cause I don't get pressure when I connect the wand but do when I connect the upholstery tool or Multisprayer wand.

Or psi regulator.....does it respond to adjustments?

Good luck with it, it isn't difficult unless you have to do it in the cold.
