Post by dp1 Mon May 01, 2017 9:05 pm

So this month I kicked the ads up, from $ 300 to $ 1525 I think ? Or it may be $ 1550, oh Matt, I asked my Yelp reps and she said the average click in LA is $ 9.80 for carpet cleaning and it's related categories, so I think your yelp rep didn't know the exact number, $ 20 / click is way too high even for Google adwords.
I got 6 calls today after eliminating sales calls and scheduled 3 or 4 of them, I pushed a little harder with the sales pitch, the other 2 told me they were going to call me back tomorrow, we'll see how that goes ( 2 of those 3 or 4 that scheduled also said they will call back and they did ! ) but I wouldn't hold my breath on them ( the ones who said will call back tomorrow ) lol.
All in all, 6 calls for 1st day and 3 scheduled is not a bad investments at all since my average is close to $ 200 / cust, that's already almost half my ads budget if not more, I'm hoping for a strong May after awful winter, how's your first day of May ?

The dryer in the house took a dump. Spent 400 to replace it.
Fired up the filtration system to find out the DI resin went bad over the winter, and my RO filter is dead too. It's only 500 bucks for another filter.... Ugh. On the hunt now for another filter at a better price.

GREAT time for all this to happen when I'm drained from the long winter and have a busy month ahead....

That's a good conversion rate and ROI DP. I have been considering AD words this year especially because my google maps location disappeared.

I put another up but noticed only the first three show up on the intro page. The top three closest to the center of town are the only one showing up show up the others show up when you open maps

Still 1st on organic listings but AD words might be a good idea at this point.

!st week of may 900 scheduled Im hoping to get more, Adding some windows to the AZ room so I need more mula. I sill want to get a hot tub for the aching muscles that are soon to come

James, gotta spend money to make money right ? Lol, sorry to hear that bud.
Mo, sometimes Google lose your listing for some weird reasons only to show up again a few days later, glitchin' much ? Be careful when you add another one up, especially with the same info ( address and phone # ) because duplicate info can get you dropped out of organic listing as well as map listing. My SEO provider ( a while back ) did the exact thing and it screwed my listing badly for a while.

Sounds like pretty good results to that advertising.

What size is that RO filter Freemind, I used to work on RO units and might have an idea or two.

It's 4 x 40. I have found them, but I'm not sure of the PSI requirement. I'm sure it's a low PSI unit, but I don't know which one I need.
150, 100, 80 PSI units? I'm going off a house tap, so there isn't more than 50 PSI and some times it's 30 PSI.

All of them are under 300 bucks shipped, which is far better than buying from a window cleaning supply company.

You don't have a supplier for nuclear grade, mixed bed DI resin do you? Very Happy That's about 200 bucks a cube. I burn through a cube of DI a year, be nice to find a good price on it too. Google isn't much help with DI.

I will make a few calls and see what I can find out.

I am amazed that they are charging so much for the RO filter, there is nothing to them....like a ball of yarn. We used an 8 foot x 36 inch Diameter filter that didn't cost much more than your little one.

By the way, how often do you back-wash that filter?

I flush it with 0 TDS every few uses. The water in my area is pretty hard. Most jobs are at 400 TDS. One job last year was so high, my meter couldn't read it. It was over 999 TDS going into my RO.

I found a few RO filters today, that were under 300 bucks. I don't know honestly, how much cheaper they can be found.

They are $261 at Dultmeier Sales.

The key to life for any RO vessel is the back washing. Does your system have a "back wash" indicator to give you a heads up when the filter membrane's flow is out of spec?

No such animal on my unit. It's a simple vessel that water goes in, and water comes out two channels. Waste water and RO water.

When I bought it, backwashing the unit wasn't something they thought needed done unless your TDS was getting high. I do it more often then they recommended, just because. Those filters are not cheap, and I want mine to last as long as possible.

My season officially starts Saturday, so I'm hoping the filter works for now. If not, I can run DI only and get through until I get an RO filter. Just costs me a lot more money to run DI only.

They didn't recommend backwashing? I wonder why....oh, that's right, so they can sell you more filters. Shark

Well, after that 1st day, it's gotten a little cold, yesterday I had no jobs Shocked Mad
Today I have 4 jobs but 2 of them are repeat, tomorrow only 2, I'm seriously sick and tired of slow season Mad
The biggest thing is not finances, boredom is killing me, and I'm one of those guy that when it's busy, I feel like doing a whole lot more ( cleaning vans, doing maintenance, etc ) but when it's slow, my laziness kicked in.
I don't think I'm going to be complaining when summer comes and I have 10 jobs / day lining up Money Pile

You and me both Dp. I have to stay busy or I get real lazy. Something about that "objects in motion tend to stay in motion" rings true for behaviors as well.

I don't require jobs every day at this point, but as long as they keep rolling in I feel pretty good. Next week is shaping up to only include 3 jobs so far, but 2 of them are the whole house including furniture, so they should be good ones.

After that, I am heading to the lake on that Saturday.

I would imagine cleaning with soft water is absolutely critical for window cleaning compared to carpet cleaning. Although I have never cleaned with an onboard water softener.

You know DP ever since I dropped off the top listing on maps I have getting mostly repeat customers. I am going to have to do something about that

Mo, add some backlinks, ask your customers to give you more reviews, specifically mention locations where you want your listing to pop up, add more keywords to your website, give it a few days for the crawler to update the contents and go from there.
Have you delete your duplicate listing ?

I'm talking Google maps. My website is still number one on the organic liatings.

The maps looks like it went geographical instead of so or review need. There are companies with reviews that aren't showing on the first page.

Not soft water, zero TDS or "pure" water is an absolute requirement for water fed pole work.
