Socail Media rant

I had my laptop get fried in the sudden power outage on Monday and have been back online with a new system since last night. That also means trying to get everything back up and accessible on the new platform. Like many, I got lazy about backing things up about 6 months ago and although I have a hard copy of all my passwords, some things are not working out well....like social media sites like Facebook.

I have a personal and business page linked to it that has been beneficial to finding work this past year. The problem is that my password that I wrote down was changed over the year and I didn't record it in my logbook. No big deal right, just need to click on the "forgot password" , receive the re-set code in my email, and be back in business right? Except their email never shows up in my inbox, spam, or junk folders. They have the correct address and I still get about 20 emails in my inbox when somebody mentions me by name or comments on my post, so I get emails from them, just never the re-set code.

The real joy is that there is no phone number nor email that you can use to get customer service, so I am at a dead end. They keep saying that the email is sent, but it never arrives. Such a frustrating joke and it does not sound like I am alone with this issue. So, I guess I will be tilting windmills for awhile before closing that door completely.

So, be warned....you don't want to be in the same spot.

I feel the same way. But over the last 3-4 month, I've gotten afew referrals from a good friend who is all over Facebook. They tell me, "Sara recommended you on Facebook".
I'm starting to feel Facebook can be much more beneficial than a website.
-easier to post pics or vids. Show a pic of a happy customer with 2 thumbs up!....
-others can make a comment(it could be negitve). So you'd have to deal with that.

That has been my experience as well Matt, I get greater referrals from there than my website lately. Too bad I can no longer log onto the dang thing.
