Re: Expansion of services.
I hope it works even better than your vision. Being able to go full-time is the dream and well worth chasing in my view. I am still trying to get back to that as well.
One good thing about working for others, it keeps you motivated to do something else. Hell, today I was sent to another city to carry the mail. I didn't know any of the streets and had no clue how the was route set-up. It took me 8.5 hours to do a 6.5 hour job and most of the time I felt like a tourist wandering around Europe trying to figure out where the hotel was. The entire time I was thinking about how I need to get the business rolling again so that I can bail on this job.

You wouldn’t know whether it’s going to go boom or bust unless you try, there are always risks with everything you do in life, if it doesn’t go as you planned, stop, pause and think about what you did wrong and see if you can fix it or try a different plan.
When I first started I made many mistakes especially with advertisements media, but through those mistakes ( which is very expensive ) I learned what works and what doesn’t work.
You’ll be fine !

I'm trying to keep myself busy and not think too much about next year. Pushing my butt off to get more sales to buy that equipment. Just did another house this morning. That was a nice check to deposit into the ol' business checking. Big house (log cabin) and the guy was a producer for a TV station.
Got a full week, and need to meet with anther insurance agent Friday. Need to see if he can do better than I have found so far.

That’s the right attitude ! Take 1 day or 1 week at a time.

Re: Expansion of services.
My new machine is built and on it's way. Should have it this week. I'll have to drive to a terminal an hour away to pick it up, but it will soon be set up in my trailer.

Unloaded that heavy bastard by myself and set it in my trailer. For the money, you just are NOT going to find a better machine.
Now comes the work of mounting everything, and plumbing it in. I also need to order a bunch of stuff yet, like hose, guns, surface cleaner, etc. At least it's all a write off, right?

I had looked at them before. They just don't carry much for power washers. Besides their prices are not all that great on some of the stuff I'd need.
There are quite a few vendors for the power washing equipment. I'll just have to shop around a little bit to see what works.

Re: Expansion of services.
I suppose it does help that they are located just 30 minutes away so I don't have to pay any shipping costs on that stuff.
Re: Expansion of services.
No Mo, its a custom build machine from EnviroSpec. 19 HP Kohler, 6.3 GPM general pump, with gear drive. It's mounted on a skid plate. The machine with freight, ran me $2100.
Their machines start at $900 for a 4 GPM powered by a smaller Kohler, and run to 37 HP Kohler, at 12 or 15 GPM. Top dollar cold water machines are under 3K.
They also sell hot water machines with becket burners. Those are really reasonable too.
So far, they are pretty good people to deal with. If all goes well, they will probably be the only ones I deal with in the future for a machine.

Re: Expansion of services.
Will you be using it to clean decks as well as concrete, flagstone etc at the lake homes. Good move diversifying your service options
Re: Expansion of services.
Yes, I can use it to softwash and high pressure. I will be adding a 12 volt softwash pump, either over this fall, or early in the spring to do roofs.
Plan out of the gate is to do drives, walkways, house washes, decks, and anything that gets dirty and moldy. Roofs will be there too, but I can't do them without the 12 volt pump. I may eventually switch to an air diaphragm. We'll see.
