Re: favorite citrus booster additive
Admittedly, I despise those products and haven't used any in 6 years. Sure, they work and when used in small amounts can smell pretty nice, but most brands smell like gasoline and create terrible physical reactions with me.
I guess I can't help

Re: favorite citrus booster additive
so ive been doing a little reading on D-limonene. Wow, learned alot.
difference between Food grade and industrial grade? 1%
food grade is 95%/industsrial grade 96%.
since it is from citrus peel, with no additives or such; it is considered not harmful.
-a newer version has grapefruit peel, and lime.
draw backs; hard to rinse well from carpet(oil and water dont mix thingy).
-when mixed with pre-sprays; can seperate, so ;reshaking the container is needed. some versions put surfactants and something else; to help it stay mixed.
-one appliation scenario its used for; cleaning grease traps. as the trap gets plugged, using D-limonene breaks up the grease, makes it float to the top of the water-allowning for removal.

Re: favorite citrus booster additive
As Joe pointed out long ago, it also is destructive to your joints in the long term.
I know that my hands peel when I use a citrus cleaner to clean grease off parts. Hours later after washing, my hands peel like they had sunburn.
Were I still in carpet cleaning, I'd probably try to avoid D-lim as much as possible.

It is the case of a little is okay, but a lot is damaging to your health. I still get a skin reaction similar to poison ivy on my shins when I sprayed that stuff while wearing shorts. It might come from a natural source, but it is not totally safe. I put it into the same classifictation as Tea Tree oil in that it has some great uses, but too much of it can destroy tissue.
I prefer enzymes over D-Lim
