Christmas @ Our Home
Christmas is very special at our home. We look forward to this time every year. My wife and me meet near Christmas, I asked her to marry me on Chrustmas eve, and we were married in a Christmas Wedding. Our girls eyes just sparkle in the lights on all the decor. Our oldest loves to plug in all the lights in the morning. Our youngest rushes out of bed everyday to try and find what mischief Holly our Christmas elf has gotten into. I do all the decorating getting our home ready to host friends and family over the Christmas season. Here is a taste of Christmas from our home.

Glad to hear those stories Ryan, sometimes I almost forget what Christmas was like. You are very fortunate AND rare these days.

Yea, nice to see it's alive some places.
I'm recently (in the last couple years) divorced, which isn't really a bad thing. But this is one thing I do miss, seeing the joy in my daughters eyes when we lit things up.
Enjoy what you have!!

Re: Christmas @ Our Home
Davey, congratulations on your divorce . If your x is anything like mine (only to ever be referred to as The B#$%h), you definitely did the right thing for you and your child. I have been separated/divorced for eight years this month after 18 years of pure misery. My children live three hours away and The B#$%h has done everything possible to keep them so busy that I very rarely get to see them. I miss them very much, but realized three things long ago that help me get through not being with them (not counting the vodka and wine). First, kids are very resilient - they will adjust, be happy and thrive. Second, eventually when they are out of school and on their own they will realize what a b#$%h there mother is - and hopefully we can start a fresh relationship together. Third, being married to the B#$%h was the unfortunate path - but the right path none-the-less to meeting my true love. Six years ago I met and married (within 6 months) the most perfect woman on earth and her two daughters. And five years ago we had an awesome son. Any hope your divorce has lead you to or leads you to the one your meant to be with. And hope you get to see your daughter as much as possible. Happy Holidays

Finished with the outside today. I might add a real 5 ft tree on the porch to the left. Depends on what my girls decide.

Pretty nice...may I suggest tea lights / electronic candles in the windows?
I remember being above the arctic circle in Norway over a Christmas period and every house that I drove by had a candle in every window. It looked like a Charles Dickens book, very warm and inviting when you are out in the cold weather.

These are some great photos of that Norman Rockwell Christmas theme...in my area the snow is already filthy black and limbs are thrown all over the place from last week's weather. Feels more like the Russian Front than it does Holidays.
