I'll definitely get one at that price. Pre purchase price ? Where can you pay that pre purchase price ? Any distributor ?

Just called them, they said pre purchase price is $ 299 and it's through them directly, they will send out an order form and you email or fax back to them, they're saying the product should be available in approximately 3 weeks.

You called Steambrite? They should update their dam site then
http://www.steambrite.com/mytee-upholstery-tool-bidirectional-p-88651.html
I do like the comfort grip it looks like it would be more comfortable that the SS especially if you have small hands or your cleaning multiple pieces. The clear top is cool. The price is right.
The flow needle is on the tool as opposed to the end of the hose. I wonder if it would get caught easier on the furniture? I don't like that it doesn't have continuous flow thats a cool feature on the SS. Does it have vac relief? What do you guys think about the stainless steel glide. Never hand one on a wand. Any possibilities of it getting scratched or nicked and creating sharp edges that could rip certain fabric? or does it not wear like that.

No, I called mytee, I'm glad I haven't order yet.
Mo, it looks like a combination of ss tool and drimaster III, that flow control knob is also the on and off valve.
That's a good point of the metal surface scratched and knicked, my concern aside from those is the metal surface becomes very hot and burn certain fabrics like wool or silk.

Re: Look who came out with a New Upholstery
I like the clear head of that design, but it ends right there. Continuous flow is a superior method to prevent over-wetting, which is a big problem with upholstery.
The only ss glide I have ever used was on my PMF Ti wand when it first came out. Never got it nicked up, even after dragging it across stone transitions or over a floor register or two when in a hurry.
That being said, that glide was way out in front, this one will be more exposed to the working heat. I don't think it would be a problem if you were cleaning a few pieces of furniture, but it might become a problem if you were cleaning theater seats. Even the SS tool can get hot and burn with its cross bar under those conditions, so that metal glide could become a problem.

No, there's a problem with it, that I need to figure out before it's usable.

Big end goes on the sofa
Re: Look who came out with a New Upholstery
The problem is it spits water all over the place if I open the valve enough to get proper flow. I can turn it down so it doesn't spit, but then it doesn't have enough water flow to be even across the width of the head.

Clean the injectors, replace adjustment valve, reduce TM PSI???

Re: Look who came out with a New Upholstery
The adjustment valve is expensive and usually don't need to be replaced.
The SS tool will spit water from the sides on certain fabrics, like suede or properly scotchgarded micro fiber, you have to reduce the pressure slowly and keep trying it out after each turn, if you turn it down too fast the pressure will be too weak, it has to be in the exact spot on certain fabric, you should try it on nylon or polyester fabrics. Most likely you won't have any problem with spitting water.

Re: Look who came out with a New Upholstery
The prob I see with it, is it spits water all over when it's not touching fabric. Or is that normal for it?......I figured it should work like the DM tool and not spray water all over when not on fabric, I'm I wrong?

Re: Look who came out with a New Upholstery
If the valve is open more than 1/4, and you set your machine pressure at 350, the water will spray out a little bit, that's with my machine, with your machine it probably will spray more at that setting because your blower is smaller, you need to lower your pressure at the machine if it's spraying out like crazy, then open the valve less than 1/4 of the way.

Good advice.
Mine will spit like that if set at too high of pressure. I take it down to around 250 psi, really don't need more than that. At 300+ it will spit like your describe.
Re: Look who came out with a New Upholstery
I bought this tool through kleen-rite and they price match steam brite, I bought a pump from kleen rite in the past and they have great customer service, steam brite don't take American express which is very shady to me ( Amex have excellent buyer protection program ) and I always use amex for business purchases.
Oh, the shipping is slightly cheaper with kleen-rite, $ 253 shipped, no tax !

Re: Look who came out with a New Upholstery
Just not crazy about plastic tools, my PMF with the hidden valve and hide a hose will go where these plastico fantastico tools will not. Going on 12 years and only replaced the valve once. Had the orginal dri-master, it slowly disintegrated.

I do agree....maybe we are just old, but a tool should be metal.
I do like my Sapphire tool, but that would be my greatest complaint, nylon plastic.
Re: Look who came out with a New Upholstery
I'm not a big fan of the plasticey tools either, I think the Mytee tool looks very cheap, especially with the poly hose going to spray bar.
But I'd say my DM2 has held up very well..
